Monthly Favorites: January 2021

For me, January both flew by and dragged on at the same time. So many things happened in January both for everyone in the United States, and in my personal life. Despite all the craziness, I’m happy these few good things came out of the month.

January Favorites:

New Girl

This one is an oldie, but a goodie. I started watching New Girl a few years ago, but I kind of forgot about it and got distracted by many other shows over time. My mom started watching it and reminded me how much I used to enjoy it. If you need something to give you a good laugh, then this is the show for you. Each episode revolves around 5 roommates and their everyday antics. There are 7 seasons, and I’m currently on season 4. I like how the episodes are shorter (around 20 minutes), so it doesn’t feel like a big time commitment.

New Girl is available to watch on Netflix.

The Ultimate Playlist of Noise

If you get emotional during movies, then this movie is bound to make you cry. The main character finds out that he needs brain surgery, but a complication of the surgery is that he will lose his hearing. After being devastated over the bad news, he decides he wants to create a bucket list and go on a roadtrip recording his ultimate playlist of noise. This movie came out at the beginning of the year, and I liked it so much that it will be difficult for the movies coming out this year to be able to top it. There are a lot of emotional twists and turns in this movie, so be sure to have some tissues handy.

The Ultimate Playlist of Noise is available to watch on Hulu.

Instant Pot Queso Dip

My boyfriend and I love queso and anything with cheese in general. We wanted to try to make our own queso recipe, so I found this Instant Pot White Queso recipe on Pinterest. It turned out delicious on its own, but my boyfriend cooked up some beef and added to his and it was delicious that way too! I’ve tried other queso recipes on the stove, but none of them have turned out, so I highly recommend this one!

One Line a Day Journal

If you love journaling, then I highly recommend this One Line a Day Journal. It is actually meant to be used for 5 years, so each page has a couple lines to write down your entry for that day each year. This is actually my 2nd one of these journals and I love being able to document a short memory from each day. After a year or more is filled up, its fun to read what happened that same day in previous years. I keep mine on my nightstand so I remember to write in it every day before bed.

New Music from A Day To Remember

A Day To Remember just released a sappy new song off their upcoming album called “Everything We Need” and I am obsessed. It caught me completely off guard with the other songs they have released from the album so far. I’m also a big fan of the acoustic live album they just put out. It has acoustic versions of a lot of my favorite songs on it. I can’t wait for the new album to release in March!

Those are all of my favorites from the month of January. What things have you been loving lately?

Until next time,
